JAKARTA: Pakistan and Indonesia are expected to sign Preferential TradeAgreement (PTA) in first quarter of 2011, which would increasebilateral trade to around $ 2 billion in two years.
Pakistan Ambassador to Indonesia, M Sanaullah at Pakistan, IndonesiaEconomic Cooperation event in Jakarta said recent visit by ForeignMinister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and talks with his counterpart, MartyNatalegawa would have conducive affect on process leading to signing ofPTA.
He said Pakistan and Indonesia had agreements on protection ofinvestment and avoidance of double taxation treaty, which formed basisof a cordial investment atmosphere. He invited Indonesian businessmenand companies to invest in sectors like agriculture, fruits, cotton,cotton yarn, cement, sugar manufacturing plants and their parts, steel,steel products, surgical instruments. ppi
